A - The Balboa Pavilion is located on the Balboa Peninsula. Take the 55-freeway south, which turns into Newport Boulevard. Continue on Newport Boulevard and you will be on the Balboa Peninsula. The Pavilion is in the heart of Balboa Peninsula, tucked away in a waterfront corner of Newport Beach-400 Main Street. The Balboa Peninsula offers more recreational activities per square inch than any other area of Orange County.

A - San Diego is an easy 85 miles (136 km) south of Newport Beach. Only 1 1/2 hour drive from Newport Beach to San Diego taking the 55-freeway north to the 405-freeway south to the 5-freeway south. Travel on a multi-lane freeway with rest areas, restaurants, gas stations, and other amenities that are readily available along the route.

A - Newport Beach is 50 miles (80 km) south of Los Angeles. Take the 55-freeway north to the 405-freeway north to West Los Angeles. Exit at Wilshire Boulevard and you will find yourself in the heart of Westwood, home of the UCLA Bruins and Westwood Village. To get to downtown LA from Newport Beach, travel the 55-freeway north to the 5-freeway north and you will end up in the heart of downtown Los Angeles.

A - Catalina Island is 26 miles across the sea from Newport Beach. Catalina Passenger Service is luxury catamaran, making one roundtrip to Catalina daily, departing Newport Beach at 9:00am and departing Catalina at 4:30pm. A - TOT stands for transient occupancy tax and is the tax paid by hotel guests.
Q - How much revenue is generated through tourism?
A - The TOT revenue represents 8.3% of the general fund revenue. In addition to the TOT, sales tax is generated by the retail sector and is a contributor. This represents approximately 23% of the general fund.

A - Hotel guests also generate sales tax revenue through retail purchases and restaurant tax also contributes to the general fund.
